Outstanding work happens all the time in every corner of the Metropolitan State University of Denver campus. The Roadrunners Who Soar Awards applaud and celebrate the incredible teams and individuals that embody the MSU Denver mission and who are dedicated to supporting student and University success.
The Roadrunners Who Soar Awards ceremony, held each spring, is the University’s pinnacle recognition event. It honors employees from across the University for their contributions throughout the academic year, specifically those high-performing employees who positively impact student and employee success and model the University’s CADRE values:
The event includes the Soar Awards, Team Roadrunner Awards, President’s Distinguished Service Award and the Golich Awards (which encompasses multiple staff, faculty and student-employee honors), and includes honorees, nominators and University leaders.
The Roadrunners Who Soar Awards ceremony is the University’s pinnacle recognition event. It honors employees from across the University for their contributions throughout the academic year, specifically those high-performing employees who positively impact student and employee success and model the University’s CADRE values – Community, Access, Diversity, Respect, Entrepreneurship/Excellence. The recognition includes the Soar Awards, Teaching Excellence Awards, Chair Excellence Awards, Team Roadrunner Awards and the Golich Awards.

The Team Roadrunner Award is the University’s pinnacle team award and celebrates groups of employees who foster positive professional environments where all members feel supported and valued for their shared and individual contributions.
The Soar Award is the University’s pinnacle individual award and celebrates employees who live and model the CADRE values of Community, Access, Diversity, Respect and Excellence, positively impact student and/or employee success, and more.
These awards honor talented and driven faculty, staff and student-employees. Golich Award winners are shining examples of inclusive leadership at work.
The Distinguished Service Awards were established in 1977 to recognize employees who have provided exceptional service to the Metropolitan State University of Denver community and its mission.
There are a handful of different awards faculty are eligible to receive.
Each month, President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., honors employees who are making an impact through great teaching, service to students or innovation in their respective areas.
